Terrain Paging

Hello all,

I've been looking to reproduce the behaviour of an engine I used in the past.

It basically allowed to load more than one terrain. This enables on-the-fly loading of chunks of a bigger map.

To recap: I need the ability to load, unload and stitch together smaller terrains at runtime in order to page the loading of a bigger world map.


Is there a way to achieve a similar result in Engine Nine? Are "huge maps" supported, or are there any plan to?

Currently there's no way to load paged terrains asychroniously on the fly. But you are still able to manually create multiple smaller terrains and load them on demond.

Asyhcroniously loading a seamless world is something I'm after, but not my top priority at the moment.

Thanks for your answer, yufeih. I'll make sure to try Engine Nine out when I have the time and come back with more questions (but not too many, hopefully :) ).
