Installation error - Network Error occured

Feb 7, 2013 at 2:59 AM
I am on Windows 8 and I have Visual Studio 2012. I am trying to install Engine Nine and when I do it gets to "Publishing product Information" and then say, "A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file Engine.Nine.1.4.msi"

Might anyone know why it is doing this and how to fix it?

Thank you

I had no problem using Win8 + VS2012, can you try downloading the msi again?

I've tried downloading it through IE and also chrome. I have tried installing it from the default download folder and also from my desktop and my documents folder. I even tried seeing if I could run it in compatibility mode. I just tried running it again (this was my 5th time downloading it and running it) and I checked the System Logs and got this:

Product: Engine Nine 1.4 -- Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: C:\Users\HP\Downloads\Engine.Nine.1.4.msi

I've even tried installing it to a different location to see if that would work.

Thanks again!

Ok, I performed all windows updates though nothing looked important. I restarted the computer, uninstalled VS2012, reinstalled it and reinstalled Nine and now everything works. I'm not sure if it was part of an update that didn't go through, the reinstallation of VS2012 or the fact I installed Nine into a different directory with no space in the name.

But it looks like it installed ok. Now I'm trying to do the example 3d tutorial where it says to do NEW PROJECT and click on the Nine Engine solution. And I don't see NIne Engine anywhere in any of the options in there! OY VEY!
